2022.01.22 13:49 commeatus What's the best way for others to keep track of me?

I have a few people who want to keep track of my progress and I'd like to do so passively, eg not through check-ins. I won't be carrying a discrete GPS device, but I'll have my phone. Is there a good app for this, or would something like sharing my Google location data work? I'm not looking for anything fancy, just an easy way for a few people to track my rough progress at a glance.
I feel like this must have been answered before but my searches got flooded with irrelevant results.

2022.01.22 13:49 B_H_Abbott-Motley Forgotten Fighting Style: Sword & Arquebus/Crossbow

Martín de Eguiluz & Sir John Smythe both mentioned the technique of using the arquebus in the left hand to parry while wielding a sword in the right. Has anyone ever tried this out in sparring? I'm curious to how it functions, particularly with a full-weight arquebus simulator.
Eguiluz called the arquebus in the left hand a "great help" ("grande ayuda") for parrying when arquebusiers engaged in hand-to-hand combat, as sometimes happened in 16th-century skirmishing & battles. Smythe was more specific, saying an arquebusier could hold arquebus in the middle & "beare a blow either at the head or legges, or beat by any thrust of sword, halbard, or pique, either with the vpper or lower part of their harquebuze," & close to thrust with the sword.
Smythe stressed the importance of the arquebus being light & short enough to use in this way. He complained about the weight of many calivers of the late 16th century, which he said soldiers would drop rather than hold onto to parry when fighting up close.
In 1590s English texts, the arquebus was the smallest matchlock firearm, the musket was the biggest, & the caliver was somewhere in between. It's difficult to figure out the exact weight of the arquebus Smythe & Eguiluz had in mind for using in the left hand to parry. Based on the weights given in various 16th-century sources, the Spanish arquebus was typically in the 8-11lb (3.64-5kg) range, though some were heavier. Two English matchlocks in the Royal Armouries collection fall into same range, though they're from earlier in 16th century. A few extant 16th/17th matchlocks of the size specified by Smythe, with the barrel no more than a yard, weigh under 7lbs. It depends in part on the quality of the metal used.
I've yet to get a hold of a good arquebus simulator. When playing around with improvised items of the appropriate length, even 6lbs feels rather cumbersome. Shield got well beyond 10lbs, so it's certainly doable, but I'm curious about how effective the pairing is. Unlike a shield, an arquebus leaves the offhand completely exposed. Avoiding attacks to that hand seems like it would be tricky.
Blaise de Monluc mentioned the same basic technique with the crossbow in the first quarter of the 16th century. In the first half of the15th century, Martin Huntsfeld mentioned making a shield with the crossbow while holding in the left hand with the reins for mounted fencing with a sword in the right hand.
Later on we see more references to simply using firearms as bludgeons, especially from the era of the English Civil War. It's interesting that using the arquebus to parry in conjunction with the sword rather than as a club is the documented late-16th-century approach. Whether with firearm or crossbow, mounted or on foot, an advantage of holding onto the ranged weapon as parrying aid while fighting with the sword is that the soldier can then quickly switch back to shooting as needed. While parrying could damage the ranged weapon, using it as a club seems much more likely to. Perhaps 16th-century military writers favored using crossbows & firearms as parrying aids rather than as bludgeons in part for that reason.
Please direct me to any other sources that mention using a ranged weapon to parry with the offhand when using a sword in the primary hand.

2022.01.22 13:49 Extension_Fun5008 For severe cases, how long on diet/protocol?

I'm about five months in, have seen good progress overall, but still have a ways to go to say the least.
I know this differs dramatically between cases, but for those of you with more serious candida, how long on a continuous diet and protocol before you felt "normal" or close to it?
And for those of you with serious cases that are still fighting it, how long have you been at it and how much progress have you seen?
I have no problem staying on the diet indefinitely but I'm a little less sure about the antifungals/supplements.

2022.01.22 13:49 Independent-Tip9661 Finally got tires now the inspection

So I FINALLY got my car after the drawn out process. So car looks great but a few issues. I didn’t get to drive it because it was night when I got it. I just drove it and first huge problem is that my radio doesn’t work 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ I am a huge music lover that def will not work for me and secondly I hear this weird scrubbing noise. I think it’s my brakes or rotors. I will take it and update later. I have only one key and let’s just say it’s only good for unlocking the car and starting it🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️
